There’s moments when this game shines, such as Prime battles. Just when things become varied, a player is forced to rinse and repeat the same tired set of tasks they completed on the previous planet they just cleared. The mechanics of this game are inherently good, but players have to repeat so many tasks over and over far too often. Just seems to feel better than the Switch Pro and way better than Joy Cons. I personally prefer to play this with a Wii U Pro Controller. The controls feel a little loose, but they actually work fairly well. ![]() It’s family friendly, with a story that doesn’t blow you away but is at least coherent, and I could see someone letting themselves get lost in the world. Aside from those two examples, I’m not aware of any other modern games that are like Starlink. Though I’ve never played No Man’s Sky, it’s been compared to that title often. But this title isn’t just another FPS, it’s unique in that it’s entirely based on ship exploration. There’s obviously plenty of games held in space, that’s nothing new. Not only that, this could have been a universe that Ubisoft could have crafted a long lasting IP out of. Without the artificial padding and the ridiculous, prohibitive real-world monetary costs of unlocking all of the content, there could have been a much better received game. ![]() The toys to life aspect made this game dead on arrival, and it’s a huge disappointment. In classic Ubisoft fashion, this title is padded with grindy filler, and the tedium is such a black eye for what could have been a better title. 43h PlayedStarlink does such a good job of getting in its own way.
